White in Castle Ruins

I loved this dress the minute I saw it, and then I bought it only to discover it would rain for the next couple months. So pleased I have finally gotten to wear it. Nothing beats a white Summer dress. In fact, I think I need more. I do, however always get anxious about wearing it for a long day out. Anyone else convinced they will spill something, and be stuck walking around with a huge stain all day?

This weekend I drove up to Dedham Vale,  located on the Essex-Suffolk beauty. It has been termed an area of outstanding natural beauty. I met up with a good friend from university, and we went on a 3 hour walk. Not quite what we thought it would take, but beautiful none the less. We also found lots of untouched blackberries, and a mid-walk snack is always welcome! I definitely want to go back and explore further, since it's not far from London.

Wishing everyone a good week back after the holidays!

Visited my brother for his birthday in Dorset. It was a very windy day, but I love the rugged Jurassic coastline, and definitely want to go back next Summer. It's even more incredible in person!

P.S. Wear trainers to walk down to it. We stopped by briefly after tea and I was not dressed for it, the flooring is really stony, and quite steep.

Hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend!

Last week my mother and nephew came over for a visit. He had never been to England, so the usual tours had to be done. The weather was perfect, and we booked a couple days of open double decker tour buses. I definitely think it was the best way to get a quick sense of central London.

This week has been 7 days of working, so I haven't had a chance to share the photos until now. It's currently chucking it down again, as I type this!

Scotney Castle

So this Summer isn't pool worthy, but the weather is still lovely to visit places. England has a lot of gorgeous gardens which come with old Castles or Manor houses. Yesterday I visited Scotty Castle in Kent, and I would absolutely recommend visiting if you're in the area. It's part of the National Trust, which is a real bonus if you're a member.

My dress was absolutely the right outfit for the weather, and really comfortable paired with flats. I think it would be an excellent work outfit, if that's the environment you work in (sigh, I totally wish I could dress like this for work!).

The past few weeks I have been visiting a lot of vet conferences, one of which was in Wales, and if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a few snaps from there also. It was beautiful, and on the last day I hiked in the Brecon Beacons.

When did I become so outdoorsy?! It's the British countryside, I'm convinced!

Wow, do I need a tan or what?! It's not until you see yourself in photos sometimes that you realise. There just hasn't been any proper sun in England this year, it's beyond tragic. It's also very typical, as I planned to spend Summer in the UK this year, on account of it being so nice last year!

But, the bad weather hasn't stopped me shopping as if there is a Summer... Love these shorts, they are so comfortable, allow for big lunches and look like you put effort into an outfit.

I have had a few days off work, getting things done at home and clearing out my wardrobe. Basically, those jobs you put off for weeks until you can take it no more!

I totally miss the seaside already!

So for the past month I have been taking yoga and pilates classes, and I actually can tell the difference in my progress since I started. The weather has also started warming up, but it's mostly been cloudy so I haven't been able to bring out my new floppy Summer hat yet. I want to find a good visor hat so I can wear my hair in a bun at the pool, any suggestions?

So I bought this top on sale last year while in Tenerife. Is it just me, or is the Zara inventory in Spain so much better than in the UK?! Basically living in floaty tops now, plus it allows for a large lunch!

Floral Top

I hope everyone is enjoying their bank holiday Monday, if you live in the UK. I spent it down in Poole visiting my brother. It's definitely one of my favourite places in England. I could stare at the marina all day, watching the boats. We also took a boat trip to Swanage which was lovely, and I might have gotten a bit sunburnt in the process.

Anyway, I wish I could find this floral top online, but I bought it a couple months ago, so it's possible you can still find it in a Primark shop. It was such a good purchase, and so affordable.

Also Buddy wanted to be featured on the blog, isn't he so cute?!

Happy Sunday! I drove up to the Newmarket area yesterday to visit a friend. It was gorgeous, and she lives in a beautiful village, the whole area being surrounded by thatched cottages and meadows. It was a true Escape to the Country. Newmarket is famous for it's horses and hosts races throughout most of the Summer. We took a walk up one of the racetracks, with her very handsome German Pointer. Obviously he steals the shots!

Today, I think I will go to the gym and possibly look into getting the newer iPhone, because I'll be in Dorset next weekend, and it would be so lovely if I could get some good quality shots to share.

Update: Where have I been?

Hi! It's been a while, and some things have happened (mostly work related) but I have visited a few of my favourite places this year also. I never intended to stop blogging when I moved back to the UK and started working as a vet, but it just got so busy, and I think I needed to focus 100% of my attention on  actually trying to be a vet. Do you know what I mean?

Anyway, things have finally settled, and I have come to really enjoy my job, and not live every moment in fear. But, I have missed blogging a lot! I sold my Canon camera, because I felt it was too bulky and whenever I would go into London or travel (hand luggage only please) I found I wouldn't bring it. So, new plan. I'm hoping to get a new phone in the next few months (the iPhone XS) and use that for my blog photos also. Ultimately I just want to return to sharing my love of fashion and show you my outfits, because between the last time I blogged and now my wardrobe has seen to an upgrade.

Below are a few snaps from my recent trip to Tenerife:

I may or may not have gone sort of blonde, and I really like it!

Favourite dish: garlic prawns. I got these at the Meson el Monasterio in the North of the island, highly recommend if you visit!

Hike in the mountains, with spectacular views of Mount Teide.

A glimpse of what driving around the island can look like, the locals have no idea how lucky they are!

I also got to re-visit my favourite place in the entire world, bar none! Disneyland Paris. It's so easy to get to on the Eurostar from London, I wish I could afford to go every weekend, because I so would.

Outside the Ratatouille attraction, it was far better than I expected, with a 3D ride (or do they call it 4D?)

The beautiful ferry boat and the Haunted Mansion in the background (was closed for refurbishment, but I hear just re-opened, obviously just need to go back ASAP).

And a quick trip home to Austria for Christmas. I'm hoping to do a proper ski trip next year, maybe France? Although I did really like the slopes at Semmering, and it's less than a couple hours from Vienna. Very convenient.

Well, that's all! I hope to get back to posting regularly again in the next couple of months.
