Smart Casual by the Harbour

My favourite outfits are probably those you can dress up or down. It means you end up owning items that you actually wear and re-wear. I am definitely guilty of having items in my wardrobe I just never wear, and there is usually a reason (glitter dress excluded).

I wore this to my brothers birthday party, and most of the family was quite casual so adding a flat sandal kept it Summery and fun. Also, everyone needs a blazer coat. You can throw it over anything, and you're guaranteed to look put together. My favourite combination is another smart casual look with a ballerina flat and ripped skinny jeans.

Hope you're week is going well, and the weekend comes quickly! I know I can't wait.

This was probably the last Summer day we had in the UK. My university friend and I love to meet up at National Trust places (you may remember this one). This was another incredible place to visit if you're ever in Kent, and the gardens were stunning. Today we actually visited another one (photos to come soon!) and I realised I never shared these. Hope you don't mind them going up a couple months later.

The last few months have been really packed. I flew out to Austria for my birthday, and visited family and friends. I also got to visit Florida (long blog post to follow) with one of my best friends. I even hopped over to Switzerland for a day. Now I'm back in the UK for a little while, so I can't wait to share some outfit shots. If you want to follow me on instagram, it's where I try to post more frequently too.

Last weekend I took a last minute trip to Austria to visit my mum. Nothing like booking everything last minute (literally the day before). I think I would succeed at a personal assistant job!

This weekend  I'm just trying to organize my home and life (this job is never-ending!), as I'm travelling again next week, and can't wait! I'm also having a bit of blonde moment with my hair, and keep fiddling with it, never quite sure what I'll choose next.

The above outfit I wore about a month ago, wandering around London. I may have gone into the Harrods tea room, and felt majorly underdressed though! So probably more of a casual ice-cream outside sort of outfit.

Hope you are all having a lovely week!

I loved this dress the minute I saw it, and then I bought it only to discover it would rain for the next couple months. So pleased I have finally gotten to wear it. Nothing beats a white Summer dress. In fact, I think I need more. I do, however always get anxious about wearing it for a long day out. Anyone else convinced they will spill something, and be stuck walking around with a huge stain all day?

This weekend I drove up to Dedham Vale,  located on the Essex-Suffolk beauty. It has been termed an area of outstanding natural beauty. I met up with a good friend from university, and we went on a 3 hour walk. Not quite what we thought it would take, but beautiful none the less. We also found lots of untouched blackberries, and a mid-walk snack is always welcome! I definitely want to go back and explore further, since it's not far from London.

Wishing everyone a good week back after the holidays!

Visited my brother for his birthday in Dorset. It was a very windy day, but I love the rugged Jurassic coastline, and definitely want to go back next Summer. It's even more incredible in person!

P.S. Wear trainers to walk down to it. We stopped by briefly after tea and I was not dressed for it, the flooring is really stony, and quite steep.

Hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend!

Last week my mother and nephew came over for a visit. He had never been to England, so the usual tours had to be done. The weather was perfect, and we booked a couple days of open double decker tour buses. I definitely think it was the best way to get a quick sense of central London.

This week has been 7 days of working, so I haven't had a chance to share the photos until now. It's currently chucking it down again, as I type this!

So this Summer isn't pool worthy, but the weather is still lovely to visit places. England has a lot of gorgeous gardens which come with old Castles or Manor houses. Yesterday I visited Scotty Castle in Kent, and I would absolutely recommend visiting if you're in the area. It's part of the National Trust, which is a real bonus if you're a member.

My dress was absolutely the right outfit for the weather, and really comfortable paired with flats. I think it would be an excellent work outfit, if that's the environment you work in (sigh, I totally wish I could dress like this for work!).

The past few weeks I have been visiting a lot of vet conferences, one of which was in Wales, and if you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a few snaps from there also. It was beautiful, and on the last day I hiked in the Brecon Beacons.

When did I become so outdoorsy?! It's the British countryside, I'm convinced!

Wow, do I need a tan or what?! It's not until you see yourself in photos sometimes that you realise. There just hasn't been any proper sun in England this year, it's beyond tragic. It's also very typical, as I planned to spend Summer in the UK this year, on account of it being so nice last year!

But, the bad weather hasn't stopped me shopping as if there is a Summer... Love these shorts, they are so comfortable, allow for big lunches and look like you put effort into an outfit.

I have had a few days off work, getting things done at home and clearing out my wardrobe. Basically, those jobs you put off for weeks until you can take it no more!
