Weekend in Budapest

Hope everyone is having a great start to the week. I'm writing this as I head back home for Easter, which I am so excited about since it feels like a long time since I last saw my mum. Cindy (my cat) is not so thrilled about the turn of events, but she is always so happy once we get there and recognises home instantly. What are your plans for Easter?

So two weekends ago I was in Budapest, if you follow me on Twitter or Instagram you probably know this. I have been a couple times before, as my best friend is Hungarian and has a Summer house there, which she very kindly offered for us to stay at. My boyfriend had never been so I was handed the job of tour-guide.

We arrived Friday night. Saturday we visited the Cathedral and Castle which is a must and you have a stunning view across the river to the Parliament and Margaret Island (which is where the famous Sziget festival takes place each Summer). The architecture was stunning. In the afternoon, we crossed to the other side of the river and visited the Parliament up close and the downtown area which offers lots of affordable shops (think H&M, Zara, etc) as well as a great choice of restaurants. The weather was on our side, sunny and the perfect sightseeing temperature. In the evening we met up with a friend.

Sunday we visited Heroes square, Transylvania Castle (it's actually called Vajdahunyad) and the famous Szechenyi spa. I love the castle, it features copies of several landmark buildings from Hungary (back in the 19th to 20th Century). One of them is a castle in Transylvania (Romania) hence why people refer to it that way. When you walk in there are different buildings from different time periods, which makes it such a cool place in my opinion. The spa is very old, but the architecture is stunning. The only thing is don't expect jacuzzis or bubbles of any sort. It is all about different pools of varying temperatures and minerals, as well as several saunas. I thought there would be some jacuzzis and so ended up slightly disappointed. However overall it was a great weekend, and I felt we managed to visit all the main sights.

Have you ever been to Budapest? What was your favourite part?

Orange Wedges

Hi guys! So I wore this outfit for a sightseeing day in Budapest. I really desperately wanted to wear my wedges, since it was sunnier there and I didn't have to wear boots. The bad thing was wearing wedges to be walking all day long after not having worn them for over 6 months was a terrible idea. My feet died and went to hell I think, so much I bought a bunch of silicon plasters to put on the heel of my shoe and front. Eventually I caved in and bought a pair of flats in H&M. I love wearing neutrals with a pop of colour in my accessories. Also I tend to live in flowy tops and more fitted jackets when I'm going for a more put together look.

Overall it was an amazing weekend. I went sightseeing to the Cathedral and Parliament and around town on Saturday. Sunday was all about going to the Spa and checking out Heroes Square. The weather was definitely on our side and it was amazing not to be freezing wearing just a lightweight jacket.

Happy Weekend! :)

Spring Wishlist

Hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday. I thought it would be fun to put together my Spring wishlist, especially since I have wanted to do this forever and wasn't sure which program I could use. These are mainly basic staples which go with most things, and which I think would be perfect for Spring/Summer that I don't yet own. What is on your Spring wishlist?

Striped Cardigan & Ripped Jeans

Ralph Lauren Cardigan (similar here ) | Mango Jeans | H&M Top (similar) | Ezzio Booties (similar) | Georges Rech Bag (similar here & here) | Citizen Watch (similar) | Pandora Bracelet | Blue Bracelet (similar) | Trussardi Sunglasses (old)

I really wanted it to be warmer, but unfortunately I am still having to wear boots! Brought out my summery cardigan though, which I love and tend to wear to death during Spring/Summer. I have also been wanting to try the ripped at the knee jeans, but didn't necessarily want to go out and buy some. So I just found a tutorial online and cut these myself, they are really old so it didn't matter too much if it would have gone all wrong. They are not quite distressed at the seems just yet, but I decided to leave it as is because I know they will get distressed on their own with time and washes.

On another note, I am now in Budapest for the weekend, and will be doing lots of sightseeing and plan on visiting the famous spa near Heroes Square. I have been a couple times before but always with my best friend who is from there and has a home there, so this is the first time I venture out on my own. Well, she did give me detailed instructions on names of places and tram numbers haha. Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend. I went to a birthday party Friday night, and spent the majority of the weekend catching up on series. I caught up on about 12 episodes or more of Pretty Little Liars, so I'm all up to date and what a whirlwind that show is. I really want to know who A is already! Sunday I went to brunch and had my favourite pancakes, there is a photo of them on instagram somewhere. I'm a creature of habbit and always like to order the same thing, not the most exciting!

This is an outfit I threw together to go to town one morning. I love wearing all black and then adding colour in cardigan or accessory. I've owned this green cardigan for years and years and still like wearing it sometimes. Love that it ties at the top in a bow, meaning I don't have to think about what necklace to wear. Still wearing my booties as it's not quite warm enough to wear open shoes or flats, but I'm really hoping the time is near!

Throwback: Iceland (Part 3)

Today I'm sharing with you the last part of my Iceland Trip. This is a video I made while there. It was my first time ever filming this type of video and most of it was on my iPhone so it's not the best, but it was fun making it. I hope you enjoyed this recap! Have you ever visited Iceland? :)

Throwback: Iceland (Part 2)

A typical Icelandic horse. They are smaller than your average horse, but so cute and of course very resistant to the weather.

Here you can see where the lake and sea meet.

I'm guessing you wouldn't expect this in Iceland! A heated outdoor swimming pool built strategically overlooking the sea. It looked amazing.

Hot springs.

Here we went Puffin bird watching! This is one of the things I was most excited about. There were lots and you could see them catching several fish at a time in their beaks.

Overall it was an amazing trip, and the scenery was stunning. I lost count of how many waterfalls we visited, it's like the land of waterfalls! I loved it. And the Blue Lagoon is everything it's set up to be and more (at least in my tourist opinion haha). My only complaint was the weather, it was freezing, and that's in July! I'm not someone who deals well with the cold in general so this was a shame. If you go to Iceland, really bundle up and bring your warmest clothes even if it is supposed to be Summer.

Throwback: Iceland (Part 1)

Visiting the Geysir, this one is active and shoots up water every 5 minutes or so!

At the Blue Lagoon (and I'm wearing a bandeau bikini, because I know what your all thinking haha)

A typical lava field.

Detifoss waterfall, the most powerful in Europe. Check out the people in the bottom left corner for size comparison!

This was one of the coolest experiences. A hidden hot spring known only by some locals. We had to walk through a lava field and then know the exact location to go down to a small natural pool, warm of course!

So I though it would be fun to share some of my recent travels in the past year or so on the blog. I love looking at other peoples travel pictures, especially if it's a place I have never been too and really want to visit. So rewinding back to last Summer 2014. I went to Iceland for a week in July, to visit my boyfriend who is from there. Here are some of the highlights. I will post the other half next week in order to not bombard you with too many pictures at once.

Today is the costume party, which I'm very excited for (there will be falafel and hummus!) so check my instagram for an outfit picture. I'm going as Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffanys (just a little sexed up haha, but I wanted a fun little black dress for future use). Plus you only live once.

Leggings & Wellies

Betty Barclay Blazer (similar) | Tommy Hilfiger T-Shirt | Zara Leggings | Calvin Klein Wellies (similar) | Michael Kors Clutch (similar but different pattern) | Scarf (similar)

Happy Sunday everyone! Hope you have been having a good weekend. This is what I wore on Friday to school. I love wearing leggings with a blazer as I find it totally pulls the outfit together and prevents me from looking like a total slump, especially as I'm also wearing wellies. I wore a clutch as I headed into town later.

I ended up changing my exam date last week because I just didn't feel like I had given it enough time and wasn't feeling confident enough to pass. So I have rescheduled it for next week, meaning once again a weekend stuck at home revising. Next weekend however I am going to a costume party, it's an Israeli event called Purim and it ends up being a massive party with lots of people. This year I have decided to go as Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffanys and just bought my tiara today (yes, that is indeed what I'm most excited about!)
